Material Testing of Copper by Extrusion-cutting

It is a pleasure to announce that F.A.T.I. Engineering department will be present at the 16th CIRP Conference on Modelling of Machining operations (CIRP MMO), which will be held from June 15-16, 2017 in Cluny, France.

Here, we will introduce our scientific paper “Material testing of copper by extrusion-cutting”, carried out in collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

The work encompasses an analysis on the use of a particular process, namely extrusion-cutting, as a material test method operating at severe conditions of strain, strain rate and temperature, such as machining. The final aim is the generation of stress-strain curves that can be used in analytical models as well as using Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations.

The paper is a natural consequence of the F.A.T.I. Group willingness to research and develop innovative solutions in order to best meet the customers' needs.
